The Company Christmas Party: Get Preparing Before It’s Too Late

Have you just been designated to plan and prepare your company’s Christmas Party? Truth is, it’s a lot of work and we mean A LOT of work! Don’t fret, though. You still have several days to take it all in, accept the challenge, breathe in and breathe out and pull everything off like a certified rockstar employee! Here are some tips from Business Registration Hong Kong to help you get started.

The what, when, where, who and how. List down several options. What type of company Christmas party would you like to hold? Should there be a theme? Should it be grand or will a simple gathering do? This is important because this can help you determine the appropriate dress code. If you only want a simple gathering, then perhaps casual or cocktail attire is suffice. A much grander event may call for suits and ties and dazzling evening gowns.

Think of the possible dates, venues and party attendees. Should you invite investors or stakeholders or will the event just be purely for employees only? Where do you want to hold the party? You may want to list down at least 3 options. Do you just want it at the office, at a pub that you and many of your co-workers frequent in or perhaps at a hotel ballroom? Once you figured that out, call the venues and check rental rates, food and venue availability.

Food and drinks should also be considered. Do you want to ask the big bosses if there’s a certain budget to work around with or should the employees themselves just bring food and drinks potluck style? Consider the venue, time of the party and the theme of the Christmas party also to figure out which food and drinks would go best.

Did those help you? Grab a pen and paper now and start planning! Feel free to let us know how you’re planning your company Christmas party as well.
