Hong Kong Social Media and PR Conference Success!

Another successful 2-day Social Media & PR Conference has been completed by Douglas White, PRDA Founder and Business Director! Held in Hong Kong from 05-06 March 2018, this interactive opportunity included practical tips and methods on how to win over social media influencers, how to best handle and respond to a social media crisis, and tools to help your brand thrive on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Happy and inspired attendees walked away with the tools to develop a killer social media strategy for their company, the ability to boost branded visual content and produce engaging videos on a limited budget, plus much more. A very valuable workshop for any size startup or business!

Throughout the 2-day conference, participants were given real life examples and strategies through an insightful series of speakers. Our own Douglas White was the Chairman for day 2 and opened up the Interactive Charge-Up Session, followed by Communication and Digital marketing speakers from Nielsen, Edelman Hong Kong, BASF, and J. Walter Thompson Worldwide. Douglas White then presented his time-tested PRDA social media methodology on how to best leverage social media platforms.

— How To Plan, Distribute, and Amplify Content.
Topics included:
  • Keys to building a cohesive internal culture and sense of belonging amongst your staff
  • Examining how the Facebook newsfeed works: Posting, sharing, quality, formatting, images

  • Exploring what Instagram’s algorithm changes mean for marketers and PR professionals
  • Learning how to determine social keywords and conduct audience segmentation for various social platforms
  • How to organise content with a ‘write one, post many’ strategy to increase efficiency

OutRunners Hong Kong is Recruiting for #Paris2018 Gay Games


Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 is happy to announce that OutRunners Hong Kong is recruiting athletes from across Asia in preparation for the 10th Gay Games being hosted in Paris, France and which will take place August 4-12 2018. Participants from all over the world will meet in Paris to compete, play, share, and have fun. Will you join us? We hope so! The Paris 2018 Gay Games will be a fabulous Celebration of Diversity, with up to 15,000 participants, 36 sports, 14 cultural events, 2 ceremonies, 1 village, and a sports conference.

Never give up on your passion and be ready to take on any opportunity.
I believe that challenging oneself to grow and learn is critical to being happy, healthy and well-balanced in our lives. Sports have always been the outlet I needed to get me through the good times and not so good times in my life. I have always loved team sports, as a teenager I learned that there is nothing more exhilarating than captaining local sports teams to victory! As I get older, that same thrill now drives my passion for road and trail running– there is nowhere I will not go to compete in a race, regardless of cities or countries.
With the help of the ‘Out in Hong Kong’ wellness and fitness network, I have been able to connect with other members and supporters of the LGBT+ community to run and socialize together under the name of ‘OutRunners Hong Kong’ which has again given me more opportunities to grow and learn within my passion.
Is there an LGBT+ league in Asia for this sport? Do you play against straight teams?
I am not aware of any LGBT+ running teams in Asia. Yes, most of our runners do compete in the running events throughout the year. For example, Green Race HK, and The Great Relay.
Why do you think it is important to have an LGBT+ sports team?
Diversity and Inclusion. And more importantly, less discrimination.
Why do you (and your teammates) want to go to Paris2018?
We want to show support for our LGBT+ communities as well as promoting OutRunners HK.
