Ways to Be A Good Trans-Ally

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
Love is the biggest asset of any human being, but it ceases to exist in society due to discrimination, hate, and stigmatization of various groups. Everyone deserves to be loved no matter what ethnicity, nation, religious group, etc they belong to. The society in which we live finds it hard to accept these groups and develops a zero tolerance for them. HIV Advocates is an enterprise which advocates the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS and LGBTI communities. Their mission is to develop love and create a respectable place for these stigmatised communities in society.

Nowadays, the trend of discrimination seems to focus on the gender bias. The transgender community is continually subjected to sheer violence and segregated from the society. To reduce this gender-based hate, one must play a role by becoming a trans-ally. Calling Transgenders by the pronouns and names they prefer is the biggest act of respect for anyone, especially for your trans friend. Education and awareness through media can open people's eyes and show them the reality of the transgender life. Just like everyone else, they need freedom of choice and support, not harassment and judgement. Last but not least; be sure to show them respect and include them in your daily life. To be a good trans ally, you must respect their personal right to disclose or hide their identity.
HIV Advocates aims for a society where all are treated as humans and shown love and equal respect - as only love can drive out hate.
