Living the Paleo Way

With so much information being tossed around about healthy eating habits, it can be hard to find the best path to follow. For the health conscious a Paleo diet might be the answer- with a whole range of health benefits to offer! Probably the best part about Paleo is that the food can be absolutely delicious and easy to prepare, especially when you include Omega-3 pork from Flodins.

The Nordic farming methods that are used by Flodins will produce tender pork, which is juicier and easy to cook. There is an option of eating grass-fed beef, but omega-3 pork has more health benefits to offer. The pigs at Flodins are fed with rapeseed as part of their meal plan. This was after the realization that this would increase the Omega-3 fatty acid content in the pork from these pigs; up to 4 times more compared to conventionally raised meat.  A diet rich in Omega-3 and low in saturated fat has been shown to have many health advantages, including a reduced risk of heart disease. By including Omega-3 pork in your a Paleo diet, you will eat meals that are deliciously healthy and allow you to enjoy real wellness, health, and fitness.

The Paleo diet is motivated by the meal plans that our ancestors ate back in the day. As such, an effective Paleo meal plan will not include sugars, grains, processed foods and dairy products. These food items do not add any nutritional value and are known to be a great health risk. Stay away from these foods since they are known to trigger diseases that will cause inflammation in the body. The Paleo diet thrives on fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seed, as well as healthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil, Omega-3 pork and grass-fed meat. Food is the source of energy and fuel for the body, and everything that you eat becomes part of all your cells, tissues, muscles and organs.

Pork is one of the most common types of meat in the world and by far Asia’s favorite meat. However, Flodins Omega-3 pork is rich in the fatty acid content due to their diet and the inclusion of rapeseed in the foods that the pigs eat. They use effective quality control measures known to enrich the nutritional value of the pork- the result of 5 years’ extensive research in partnership with selected farmers and Finnish research institutes, including the Natural Resources Institute Finland and University of Helsinki.

Omega-3 Pork is now available at these ParknShop Supermarkets: Kowloon Tong, Festival Walk - Discovery Bay Plaza - Stanley Plaza - Wan Chai, Hopewell Centre - Tai Tam, Hong Kong Parkview.
