With planning and the right workout program in place, you can maintain your fitness levels while still enjoying your holiday plans. Follow these steps to stay on track  and avoid backtracking with your health and fitness:
  • Plan your training. Schedule it at least a month in advance, so that you can make prior arrangements. If you know you'll be traveling and not have access to your normal workout equipment for a few days, plan on using those days as recovery and amp up your training surrounding the trip. Be proactive and set aside dedicated time for fitness!
  • Recruit a friend to train with. Training with a friend will help keep you motivated and accountable as well as provide you with some great company- and maybe some bonding time?

  • Take your workout with you, resistance bands (Exercise Bands) are a light and comfortable way to exercise and great to take on the road while travelling.
  • If you can’t squeeze in your normal workout, try many short, intense workouts throughout the day.  For instance, every hour from 9am to 9pm perform 20 push-ups and 20 jumping jacks. By the end of the day, you'll have done 260 reps of each!
  • During the busy holiday season it is especially crucial to evaluate your progress. Is your current plan keeping you on track toward your fitness goals or farther away? Keep a record of your progress and use it to stay motivated!
Staying motivated during holidays is not an easy job. However, by following the above mentioned tips, it can be done. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning, and make the most out of your New Year! Remember to stay fit and stay motivated with T8 Fitness. Gung Hay Fat Choy!
