Enjoy the Summer Festival with the Asian Youth Orchestra




The Asian Youth Orchestra wants you to join them at the 2017 Summer Festival, which will be held from the 2nd to the 24th of July 2017. This is an annual event that showcases the talents of the best young musicians from all over Asia.

The three week long Summer Festival takes place in Hong Kong, where young musicians of the Asian Youth Orchestra will study with the artist-faculty of principals from Hong Kong, Baltimore, NDR Hamburg, Gewandhaus, and National Orchestras, Teatro Alla Scala and the Bergamo Festival Orchestra from Italy, Vienna Volksoper, Monnaie Opera from Brussels, Triple Helix Trio, the Boston Conservatory, and Peabody Institute of the John Hopkins University.

2017 Asian Youth Orchestra World Tour
After the Summer Festival, the Asian Youth Orchestra will embark on their 2017 World Tour that will take them all over Asia, North America, and Europe. The tour will start on July 25 at the Beijing National Center for Performing Arts. Its last performance will be held on the 5th of September at the Bozar Theater in Brussels. There will be two programs for the World Tour, each with different conductors and repertoire.

Program A will be conducted by Richard Pontzious and features the violin solo of Sarah Chang. Its repertoire includes R. Strauss: Don Juan; Sibelius: Violin Concerto in D minor; and Beethoven: Symphony No. 7.

Program B will have James Judd as the principal conductor, and Matthias Bamert as the guest conductor. It will feature the violin soloists Vadim Repin and Jan Mracek, and piano soloist Gerhard Oppitz.  

The best young musicians from Asian get to perform in front of audiences from all across the globe during the Asian Youth Orchestra World Tour.
