Ice Hockey and Figure Skating at Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10

Register now for the Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10 taking place Aug. 4-12, 2018!
Registration is now open for athletes to compete in over 30 different sports.

It’s cold outside! So it seems only fitting that we talk about the Ice Events, like Ice Hockey
and Figure Skating,  that will be held at Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10. First, some big news for
figure skaters: For the first time in the history of the Gay Games, Paris 2018 has obtained a
formal agreement from the International Skating Union (ISU) to organize a joint competition
utilizing both ISU and Ice Skating Institute (ISI) events! Paris 2018 Gay Games organizers
have spent over 2 years working with the French Federation of Ice Sports to secure an
agreement with the ISU.

While the events won’t be sanctioned by the ISU, they have agreed to not take any action
against members who wish to compete in Paris and they have given the French Federation
permission to help organize part of the skating event. This will be the first Gay Games that
members of the ISU will not risk punishment for their participation. Half of the competition
will be run by the French Federation under ISU rules. The other half, which will include
same-sex pairs, will be run by the International Gay Figure Skating Union under Ice Skating
Institute rules.

Bonus News: Openly gay World Figure Skating Champion Randy Gardner has shared that he
hopes to be a figure skating judge at Paris 2018!

Ice Hockey at Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10 is going to be guaranteed FUN! Nearly 300 players
are expected for the Ice Hockey tournaments, which are open to everyone, regardless of level
of ability. Both the women’s and men’s Ice Hockey tournaments will be organized by Paris
2018, with the support from the Fédération Française de Hockey sur Glace (FFHG), and the
French Federation of Ice Hockey (FFHG). The tournaments will be organized by level,
allowing for a more pleasant and balanced experience for players of all levels. The men’s
tournaments will include mixed teams-- both men and women. Don’t have a full team to
register? You can register individually. Individuals will then be added to an already registered
team, or a team will be formed with the single registrants.

The Aren'Ice will be hosting the ice sports of Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10. Opened in 2016,
the Aren’ice has two skating rinks that meet international standards and is located in
Cergy-Pontoise. The Aren'Ice is also the headquarters of the French Federation of Ice
Hockey. Don’t wait any longer- register now for Paris 2018 - Gay Games 10 to secure your
